Minnesota Union Women's Leadership Gathering
7/22/2008

The University of Minnesota Labor Education Service, in conjunction with women from a variety of labor organizations, will host a Minnesota Union Women's Leadership Gathering July 22 in St. Paul.

The half-day event will start with registration and continental breakfast at 8 a.m. and will run until 12:30 p.m. at the Minnesota Humanities Center, 987 Ivy Ave. E., St. Paul.

The program will include a multigenerational panel of local union women activists, as well as workshops on how to use women's stories to build the labor movement. The nuts and bolts of internal organizing and oral history collection will both be covered.

Cost is $35 per person and includes continental breakfast and all materials. Limited scholarships are available thanks to donations from the Minnesota Nurses Association and the United Steelworkers. Deadline for registration is July 8. Enrollment is limited to 75 women, so early registration is encouraged. Call the Labor Education Service office at  612-624-5020 to register and for scholarships.
