Transportation issues to be discussed at April 23 meeting in Excelsior
4/15/2009 4:31 PM

Minnesota faces major transportation challenges. Already playing catch-up after many years of insufficient investment, the state has yet to adequately address emerging transportation concerns posed by the needs of existing state residents, forecasted population growth, and the environmental impacts of the current system.

Through Smart InvestmentsSM in Transportation for Minnesota, Growth & Justice, a nonpartisan policy research organization, is working with key constituencies, stakeholders, opinion leaders and policy makers to spur sustainable economic growth for the state and expanded economic prosperity for all Minnesotans through smart transportation investments, policies and choices.

Growth & Justice Policy Fellow Matt Kane will speak about the project on Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 County Road 19 in Excelsior. The meeting, hosted by the Lake Country Progressives, is free and open to the public.
