Maureen Ramirez joined the staff of Growth & Justice in 2011, after serving as a Board Member (2010-2011) and a Steering Committee Member on the Smart Investments in Minnesota Students Initiative. Ramirez served as a Regent of the University of Minnesota from 2007-2013. She spent many years working with nonprofits to increase civic engagement in Minnesota and to advocate for policies that promote race equity and access to higher education. Ramirez earned a master’s degree in Advocacy and Political Leadership from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Marquette University. She was awarded a Bush Leadership Fellowship from the Bush Foundation in 2014 and is enrolled in the Executive MBA program at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
