“Minnesota will face unforeseen risks in the years ahead, but we already know of one significant challenge, on that could undermine our future: Minnesota’s supply of college-educated residents will soon fail to keep up with our economy’s demand,” states a letter from Growth & Justice President Dane Smith and Minnesota Chamber of Commerce President David Olson which is accompanying the documentary which is being sent across the state. “While we often have different ideas on policy, we strongly agree on the need for focused attention on this challenge and how we best strengthen Minnesota’s brain power.”
Smith said he signed on to this effort because it lines up well with Growth & Justice’s Smart Investments in Minnesota’s Students which is also focused on improving Minnesota’s higher-ed attainment.
“Unless we take action, Minnesota’s supply of college-educated will not keep pace with the economy’s demands,” Smith said. “It’s important that organizations like Growth & Justice and the Chamber of Commerce work with Minnesota’s higher education system to turn this around. Our future depends on it.”
