Growth & Justice commentary (twice!) featured in Star Tribune Sunday Op-Ex The front cover of the Star Tribune's Sunday OpEx section is about as good at it gets for optimum reach on policy advocacy and we landed there twice in the last month. The first piece makes the case from a business perspective for new revenues and public investment. It provoked a lot of cross-talk, much of it positive, and it prompted an op-ed from conservative talk-show host Jason Lewis (with a headline that said we made it "sound so good"; we'll take that as a compliment!) We blogged a response to the Lewis piece and lots of folks who agree with us countered his op-ed in on-line comments on the Star Tribune website. The second piece, on March 8, was co-authored with conservative Mitch Pearlstein, president of the Center of the American Experiment, and made the case for amending the constitution to prevent judical races from becoming partisan and overwhelmed with money from interest groups. Finding common ground and efforts to build bridges between left and right is a hallmark of Growth & Justice, which from its beginning has stressed that business growth and economic justice reinforce each other and should not be considered to be opposite values.
