| Pat Ryan Greene: Kersten doesn't speak for me Unlike columnist Katherine Kersten ("Gang of 200, feel free to spend your money, not ours," June 26), I didn't "chuckle" at the "burst of conspicuous philanthropy" expressed by 200-plus wealthy Minnesotans in the Growth & Justice ad. Nor do I agree with her suggestion -- also expressed by Gov. Tim Pawlenty -- that the signers should just write checks to the government rather than advocate higher taxes for themselves. Though I consider myself a Christian, I have not reached that state of perfection that I would make larger free-will donations to charity than those required of me for the common good through taxes.
