Dear Growth & Justice supporters:
Beginning Tuesday, March 17, until further notice, our offices will be closed to the public as a precaution to help slow the spread of COVID-19. We will continue to monitor the coronavirus situation closely and we will follow the Minnesota Department of Health, CDC, and World Health Organization for updates and guidance.
The daily operations at G & J will continue but more so online. We will be using remote web conferencing, videoconferencing, and conference calls for meetings and outreach. Office functions that require on-site staffing will continue to be performed.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Growth & Justice. We’ll keep you updated often through the weekly E-News and other methods. Please look after your family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and yourselves. We will get thru this together as the resilient Minnesota Community that we are.
I’m always available if you have questions, ideas, or insights, at email@example.com and/or by text or phone at 651-303-JANE (5263).
To help keep us all moving forward and engaged – hearts & minds together - we will be starting Minnesota Equity Blueprint breakfasts earlier than planned. They won’t be in person as we had hoped to do in late spring, but via Zoom video & teleconferencing, starting next week on March 24 at 8am. Click here to RSVP via Eventbrite. No charge (but recipes for home-cooked breakfasts are welcome)!
We had such a successful launch of the Minnesota Equity Blueprint via videoconference up and down the Mississippi River back on February 27. Now that we need to use videoconferencing for a while to stay connected, we hope you will join us once per week for the next eight weeks to explore the Blueprint section by section, chapter by chapter. We’ll dig into the research behind the recommendations and the inspirational stories and community equity and inclusion practices behind the story boxes. To get ready, you can start reading here. With 170 pages and 141 recommendations, there’s plenty in those pages to review, reflect on, and discuss. The pdf version is a free download, or you can buy the printed copy.
“We know these [COVID-19 mitigation] strategies will impact the lives of all Minnesotans, but we are hopeful we can reduce the impacts of this outbreak by working together…. All Minnesotans share the risks and the responsibilities now.” -- MN Dept. of Health Commissioner (and former Growth & Justice Board Member) Jan Malcolm.
